Policy status
This SmartCabie-specific policy is being completed. This update describes verified app and dispatcher behaviour and the 30-day raw GPS retention rule. Background operation on physical devices, backup retention, international transfers and the complete account erasure process still require verification. This draft is not a complete privacy disclosure for App Store submission.
Who we are
MugheryDev provides SmartCabie. This page supplements our general Privacy Policy with SmartCabie-specific information.
When driver location is collected
SmartCabie shares dispatch GPS location while an enabled driver is online, busy, on a short break or hired. Offline, long break and suspended status stop new dispatch GPS uploads. The GPS tracking switch in the app and the device location permission also control dispatch tracking. Trip-meter and navigation features use location separately when you use those features; disabling dispatch tracking is not a promise that those features stop using GPS.
Going offline stops new dispatch location collection; it does not itself delete previously collected records. In the updated app, your taxi operator centrally sets the dispatch upload interval and movement threshold in Smart Dispatcher. The driver app displays these settings without allowing a local override. Updated apps refresh operator settings at startup and about every five minutes while active. The operator cannot use these settings to bypass the driver GPS switch, offline status or device permissions. The updated default is five minutes OR ten metres of movement. Distances use GPS estimates. When a movement threshold is enabled, either time or movement can trigger an update. Starting tracking and manual updates may upload immediately. The app checks GPS more often than it uploads; these settings do not change trip-meter or navigation GPS frequency. Older app versions may use different upload intervals.
Location permissions
You can manage SmartCabie's location permission in your device settings. Whether tracking continues while the app is in the background or the device is locked will be stated here once verified.
Data use, access and sharing
The app and dispatcher handle account/profile details, authentication tokens, driver availability, vehicle details, booking and trip information, messages and notifications. Dispatch GPS samples contain latitude, longitude, capture time and accuracy, and may include heading and speed. Authenticated app activity records a last-contact time separately from GPS so that an active app does not make old coordinates appear live.
Authorised operator administrators and dispatchers can access fleet location and operational records. Drivers access their assigned bookings and own trip records. Customers can track their own eligible active booking; a booking tracking link also grants access to its holder, so it should be kept private. Customer tracking hides coordinates when location is stale, the driver is not eligible for tracking, or the booking has ended. Older fleet coordinates are labelled last-known.
Google Maps and Google Navigation are used for mapping and navigation and may process location and routing information when those features are used. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Your taxi operator and the hosting provider process data needed to run the dispatch service. The final list of other providers, processing locations and international-transfer safeguards is still being verified.
Retention and deletion
Raw dispatch GPS history is retained for up to 30 days and removed by a daily cleanup job; deletion may therefore occur on the next daily run after the 30-day limit. Expired cached fleet coordinates are also cleared. This rule does not erase coordinates embedded in trip or booking records. The reviewed dispatcher is configured for twelve-month cleanup of bookings, trips, booking events, notifications, app messages and telephony logs; individual operators may have different settings or legal obligations. Backup retention and the exact legal grounds for retained records still require confirmation.
For privacy enquiries or to request access, correction or deletion, contact info@mugheryweb.com and identify SmartCabie in your request. See our account deletion information. Driver accounts are provisioned through the taxi operator’s dispatcher; the reviewed driver app has login but no self-registration flow. The backend separately supports customer registration. Ask your operator or contact us to initiate account/data deletion, identifying your operator and account without sending your password. We must verify identity, identify data that can be erased, and explain any records that must be retained. Account suspension or logging out does not itself erase personal data. An automatic in-app account erasure flow is not yet implemented.
